Sony has recently launched its PSP-3000 and immediately after that news has been spreading like wild fire that Sony has already announced the launch of Sony PSP-4000 in late 2009. There is much anticipation that Nintendo is releasing their DSi console in the mid of 2009 in North America. Nintendo has always been the greatest rival of Sony. So, according to many sources Sony has planned to launch the Sony PSP-4000 by end of 2009 just before Christmas to give a tough competition to Nintendo.

When such facts are told, it becomes easy for anyone to believe that indeed Sony might have thought to launch their PSP2 in a more energizing mode and advanced features. The PSP-3000 already had some wonderful new added features in it and now the PSP-4000 is expected to have more powerful features in it. But there have been lots of controversies with some sites claiming that insiders of Sony and prominent figures having revealed to them about the launch of Sony PSP-4000.

While there are other sites which claim that when asked about the launch of this new portable gaming console to prominent position holders in Sony, they gave negative responses to the issue. For instance David Reeve, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe says, “…there are currently no plans for PSP2.” He further added that his visits to Tokyo revealed no such plans from the brand. Sony is much busy with their new launch and wish to learn about the response of the new platform rather than thinking of a new PSP2.

The controversy becomes more grueling with some other sites claiming the name of the same person stating that he declared the truth of the launch. You will find some sites mentioning David Reeve’s name with the story that he has nodded to the new release of Sony PSP-4000. But why there is hope? That is because whenever there is such rumor regarding any sort of gadgets, they have always proved to be true. For instance take examples of Sony PSP2; there were rumors of the PlayStation before it was formally announced by SONY. Perhaps the same may happen to the fate of Sony PSP-4000. SONY is waiting for the right opportunity to launch their PlayStation Portable with a bang!
